"Pëllumbi will resign at the Congress"

Reasons for leaving: "It is simply due to health reasons"? TIRANA - Will it once again be named after Gramoz Ruçi? That is how an opposition MP somewhat nervously presented last Thursday the idea that the chairman of the Socialist Party, Servet Pëllumbi, would step down from leading the party. And according to what is learned from sources close to the largest opposition party, he seems to be seriously preparing for such a decision. For some time now, this has been discussed all around the SP. But the fact that such rumors are circulating not only among the party base, but also in its leadership circle, seems to point to a real step. This is also confirmed by one of the members of the party presidency, Arta Dade. In an interview published in an Italian daily, she says that the SP will go to the Congress with the alternative of changing the chairman. Dade defines this not as a political move, but as a personal decision by Mr. Pëllumbi, who is not in good health. One of the most talked-about alternatives is Gramoz Ruçi, but other names are not excluded. Servet Pëllumbi
